Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Tongo app and website (the “Service”), operated by Tongo IA. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

1. The Service

Tongo provides real-time voice translation, a live meeting interpreter that joins your video calls, and an AI notetaker that records, transcribes and lets you chat with your meetings. Features may change, improve or be discontinued over time.

2. Your account

You sign in with Google or Apple. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to it secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country (and at least 13, or 16 where applicable) to use Tongo.

3. Subscriptions, free trial and billing

Free trial. New users may start a 3-day free trial. If you don’t cancel before it ends, your selected plan begins and is charged.
Plans. Tongo offers recurring subscriptions (such as weekly, annual and business plans) and optional one-time credit packs for additional usage.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Purchases are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account.
Cancellation. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn’t retroactively refund the current period.
Credits. On-demand credit packs are consumable and are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
Price changes. We may change prices or plan limits prospectively, with notice as required by the stores or applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Tongo for anything unlawful, harmful, deceptive or infringing;
Record, interpret or transcribe a conversation without any consent the law requires (see below);
Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape or circumvent the Service or its usage limits;
Resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly allowed.

Recording consent is your responsibility. You are solely responsible for complying with all laws that apply to recording, interpreting or transcribing a conversation, including obtaining the consent of other participants where required. Tongo provides the tools; you decide when and where it’s lawful to use them.

5. Your content

You own the recordings, transcripts and notes you create with Tongo. You grant us a limited license to process and store that content solely to provide the Service to you (for example, to transcribe, translate, sync your library and answer your questions about a meeting). You’re responsible for the content you capture and for having the rights to use it.

6. Third-party services

Tongo works with third-party platforms (such as Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams) and processors (such as OpenAI and Recall.ai). Your use of those platforms is subject to their own terms, and we’re not responsible for them.

7. AI output disclaimer

Translations, transcripts and AI answers are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are not professional, legal, medical or financial advice. Verify anything important before relying on it.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or perfectly accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tongo IA and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You can stop using Tongo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as content licenses, disclaimers and liability limits) will survive termination.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
